Biography

Joseph Bestreich practices primarily in the areas of elder law and estate planning. He represents clients seeking to obtain Community and Chronic Care Medicaid, as well as clients who have been issued inadequate Medicaid determinations at fair hearings. He assists individuals in developing estate plans to protect assets and avoid probate through the implementation of revocable and irrevocable trusts. Joseph has experience in drafting Last Wills and Testaments, Living Wills, Health Care Proxies, and Powers of Attorneys. He also assists with the petitioning for Article 81 and SCPA 17A guardianships for those who require court intervention to appoint a guardian.

Joseph was selected to Super Lawyers Rising Stars for 2019-2023. This peer designation is awarded only to a select number of accomplished attorneys in each state. He graduated summa cum laude from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 2008 and graduated magna cum laude from the State University of New York at Buffalo Law School in 2011.

He is currently a member of the New York State Bar Association Elder Law Section and Trusts and Estates Section.
