Partner Yvonne Cort to present at NYU School of Professional Studies 10th Annual Tax Controversy Forum @ The Crowne Plaza Times Square Manhattan

Partner Yvonne Cort has been invited to participate in the NYU 10th Annual Tax Controversy Forum, a two-day conference of problem solving featuring representatives of the Internal Revenue Service and New York State.  She will be a featured speaker on a panel titled “New York State Tax Enforcement Updates- Residency Audits, Driver’s License Suspension and the Search for Ghost Preparers”, discussing New York State programs that are likely to become the model for other states tax administrators, including driver’s license suspensions, residency audits, and NYS DTF’s regulation of preparers and ghost preparers.

Ms. Cort focuses her practice on resolving Federal and New York State tax controversies. She assists clients with tax matters including New York State and New York City residency audits, unfiled returns, income tax, sales tax, withholding tax, responsible person assessments, liens and levies, innocent spouse, voluntary disclosure, installment agreements and offers in compromise. She is a regular speaker for several professional groups in New York and an accomplished author whose articles are frequently published in accounting and legal publications.

LIU’s Civil and Criminal Tax Controversy Forum @ LIU Post

Partner Yvonne Cort, who focuses her practice on resolving Federal and New York State tax controversies, has been invited to participate on a panel at Long Island University Civil and Criminal Tax Controversy Forum on August 16th. This forum is an annual event designed for private and government tax professionals to discuss current events and best practices in federal and New York State cases involving criminal and civil tax penalties and enforcement. There will also be an opportunity to discuss IRS problems face to face with a local Taxpayer Advocate Service.

This all-day forum will take place at the LIU Post Tax & Accounting Institute and 8 CPE credits will be awarded to attendees. Sign in and breakfast begins at 7:30 a.m.
